Robinson High School

Fairfax, VA
Robinson High School has a few nice places to train but more for the traceur with some experience. Walls are a bit higher about mid torso low chest area needing a bit of power to move over them. The first picture is on the side of the school opposite the stadium. It is a great place to practice cat grab to muscle up techniques as the walls have good grip. You can do a combination workout starting from the left you can do a wall run up the pillar then a vault over the wall (fairly high) down the steps. From there you can practice various vaults over the wall into the mulch where the playground is. The drop is decent so do not try it unless you have properly trained, (should require a roll, not a beginner jump). Although, for the beginners who have not conditioned themselves for a drop or not trained the roll enough, you can practice a turn vault to a drop. The drop will be smaller because you will be hanging, but you will have to push off the wall a little to make it to the mulch. In the distance there is another smaller wall that is good for smaller wall run or pop vaults. On the other side of the wall is concrete and you can do various vaults over the averaged height wall to a drop into grass. Along with a handicap ramp that spot is good for kong precisions and other combos. The next spot is to the left of the front entrance. Great for practicing 8 to 9 foot precisions (including running) and high to low precisions. Next spot has five of the same thing; the first one is right next to the spot before. Good for wall runs and vaults to drops from the back side, the lower part is great for various cat grabs, and a few combos such as kong to cat, tic tac to crane, and 270 cats. Also with a stadium, some good climbing and balancing training. This is a school so when in session (like fall through spring) be careful because there is a lot of security. So more of a summer spot.
